Shortly after 6:45 a.m., officers responded to ShotSpotter technology near the 6700 block of East End Avenue, and discovered a victim with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.

A 19-year-old man was fatally wounded Tuesday morning in the South Shore neighborhood, Chicago police said. The victim was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was pronounced dead. No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
