WASHINGTON - The United States expects it will take months before a software fix for Boeing 737 Max planes is complete, the acting administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration said on Wednesday, adding that he does not know how long the country’s grounding of the aircraft will last. Acting administrator Dan Elwell told a conference call with reporters that the “black boxes” from Sunday’s Ethiopian Airlines plane crash are headed to France later on Wednesday.Our Standards:
Boeing is now delaying the ‘software fix’ - because of disputes with aviation authorities on how it will perform..... this is no modern fighter aircraft (unstable without computers), or wasn’t until more upgrades (engines that are too big) were bolted on!
The risk of relying on (software) work arounds to mitigate a risky design is questionable and bad engineering. Now, fix the design and stop talking about fixing the software, no wonder auto pilot is still a good dream.
Ask BOEING instead of looking for problems with MACS software to look for problems with Litium batteries
Scary, it’s been 5 months since the LionAir crisis, and all the 737 Max planes have been flying without the crucial software fix that addresses this fatal design flaw.
I thought they were planning to release a fix by April. They're going to need tons of space to park those things.

Boing and others modified perfectly functioning airplanes to include “safety” features that requires Pilots to be MIT PHDs to disable them in cases features go weird. Don’t mess with people’s lives !
This morning and yesterday Trump said he had complete confidence in the Boeing 737 Max. (Based on what experience or training?) Normally the FAA would give their expert opinion on the subject. Today Trump announces that the plane is grounded. Really?

Software Fix? How long has the software been defective? Who knew? When did they know?
Everything coming out today about the software issue is disturbing. That there is a known fleetwide problem is huge. The company actually knew there was a problem!
