Deputy energy, science, technology, environment and climate change minister says the ministry wrote to Australian authorities last month to request for approval to deliver the waste to Australia.

KUALA LUMPUR: The energy, science, technology, environment and climate change ministry has formed a task force to facilitate the process of sending waste from the Lynas plant to Australia.

“It was meant to inform them of the need to send water leached purification waste from Malaysia to Australia, besides speeding up Lynas’ request for approval from the Australian government to send back the waste. Isnaraissah said this in response to a supplementary question by Hasbullah Osman on the latest developments and full evaluation reports of the Lynas’ operations.
