The FAA says U.S. airlines can still fly the Boeing jet model that has been involved in two crashes in less than six months.

“My personal feeling on this is that Boeing aircraft company ought to voluntarily itself ground these aircraft because of the similarities between these two accidents,” Hall said. “It’s a brand new aircraft, and we had such a remarkable safety record in aviation, that I think this blip needs to be addressed by the manufacturer, and they need to do a detailed — a detailed look, and with these black boxes available, that’ll be done in a short term.

U.S. airlines that fly 737 Max 8 planes have not indicated any immediate plans to stop flying the jets. American Airlines said it has 24 of the 737 Max 8 aircraft and that it will “closely monitor the investigation in Ethiopia.” In a subsequent statement, the airline said it continues to have"confidence in the safe operation of all of our aircraft, including the 737 MAX 8."

Canadian airlines such as WestJet, Sunwing Airlines and Air Canada also have 737 Max 8 jets or the Max 9 version in their fleets, according to the Boeing website. Similarly, China and Indonesia joined Ethiopia in halting the use of 737 Max 8 and Max 9 jets while the investigation of Sunday's crash is underway.

MrRArabi I wonder if that would be the case if it was manufactured by a Chinese company 🤔

Sure they can still fly them but that doesn’t mean I would get on one. This problem needs to be fixed immediately.

The air passenger version of Russian Roulette. RIP in advance.

Don’t do it. Something is wrong with those planes

We have better trained pilots and flight crews trained to override a failing AOA sensor. It's a software fix. Flight crews just need to be trained to be aware of it.

Boeing lobbyists are getting an extra bonus this year.

FAA says US can fly these planes. Is this because of trumps economy and FAA doesn't want to interrupt? All these other countries seem to care more about their citizens and other countries citizens than US. FAA is out of touch.

Shady!

Boeing has probably lobbied Congressional leaders and bribed their way into favorable contracts from our government. I don't trust BoeingAirplanes at ALL.

Ground them!

I definitely wouldn’t get on those planes. The fact that they are still flying here lends validity to the notion that corporations put profits over people.

This is just a reminder of how much I do not like to fly American Airline.

I would bet that they are missing a clear indicator that this system is doing this. If they had that, even in an emergency, a pilot would be able to clearly know that they should turn it off...... I imagine.

Worried - I have to fly in 2 weeks...

I don't think so. When it comes flying! They fly the same but they have different Pilote - We should have to know that. USA have Talented Pilotes.

That’s just crazy smh 👀

1000's of those planes fly everyday with no issue. Fear mongering really doesn't help anyone. Flying is safer than driving any day.

Until one Crashes in tha U.S.!!!!!

Passenger concerns need to be taken into account on this matter. Ground 737 Max 8 planes until further investigations !

I’m so hoping that we’re not sitting here next week talking about how 200 people died because we weren’t more careful.

Trump’s boys don’t give a crap about American citizens

at your own risk?

But of course, BC American lives just don't matter BoeingAirplanes 🤬

I mean you can fly the plane its just a question as to if it continues to fly.

OH well.. that's not going to go down with the passengers I bet.
