The social media giant removed or labeled over 795,000 pieces of content that support or praise Hamas after EU criticism.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and other social media platforms, announced on Friday that it was taking action against content that supports or praises Hamas, the Palestinian militant group that launched an attack on Israel on Oct. 7.The company responded to the European Union's criticism of social media companies for failing to curb disinformation and harmful content on their platforms.

Hamas has reportedly taken dozens of Israeli and foreign hostages to Gaza, the Palestinian territory where it rules, after the attack.
