I write while paddling in the tides of the Momo hoax, a story I am extremely sorry for continuing just when you thought it was safe to open your laptop and one I’m loathe to repeat because, well, then I’m just another voice screaming into the waves, but… oh dear too late, here I am, soaked.

Don't allow children smart phones until they are 16. Social media is toxic and is ruining their mental health. I see it happening on an almost daily basis.

And media need to act responsibly. Research stories properly and stop hyping latest bogey man story.

Hoaxes are called 'viral' for a reason. They hook onto instincts to protect children (whether they actually do doesn't matter). Similar to how lolcats have infected the Internet.

No I don't need to 'grow up'. I need to protect my child which is my job as a parent. I don't need to listen to a woman who based this article on 1 email she received which wasn't intended for her.
