Seorang daripada suspek mengaku belajar membuat bom melalui internet dan bahannya dibeli dalam talian.

Ketua Polis Seberang Perai Utara Asrie Shafie berkata mereka menerima panggilan telefon berhubung bungkusan mencurigakan di sebuah rumah pangsa di Taman Pandan, Butterworth.

Ketua Polis Seberang Perai Utara, Asrie Shafie, berkata Balai Polis Mak Mandin menerima panggilan telefon memaklumkan penemuan satu bungkusan mencurigakan di sebuah rumah pangsa di Taman Pandan, Butterworth, disyaki mengandungi bahan letupan.Asrie berkata, hasil pemeriksaan unit pemusnah bom dan K9 yang dihantar ke lokasi kejadian mengesahkan ia improvised explosive device .
