Sphere Entertainment's (SPHR) Sphere at The Venetian Las Vegas will officially open on Friday, September 29, with a U2 concert. The highly anticipated entertainment venue was conceptualized by James Dolan, Executive Chairman and CEO, Madison Square Garden Sports (MSGS) and Madison Square Garden Entertainment (MSGE). Here are the top 5 things you need to know about Sphere. 1. Construction Cost Sphere at The Venetian Las Vegas took almost 4 years and an estimated $2.3 billion to build.  2. Exterior Features Standing over 360 feet tall and 516 feet wide, Sphere is the world’s largest spherical structure. It includes a world record 580,000-square-foot fully programmable LED exterior. 3. Interior Details Inside, Sphere has another record 160,000-square-foot wraparound LED display canvas. It has a capacity of 20,000 standing spectators or 17,500 seated guests, including 23 VIP suites. Sphere's Immersive Sound™ is the world’s largest beamforming audio system, utilizing more than 160,000 speakers. 4. AI Integration At Sphere’s grand atrium, visitors will encounter 5 AI humanoid robots, who will introduce them to Sphere. 5. Special Events Sphere will host a wide variety of unique entertainment events, beginning September 29th with the first of 25 performances by U2, followed in October by The Sphere Experience featuring director Darren Aronofsky's 'Postcard from Earth.'
