Addaction hopes that if the Home Office-backed pilot is successful it will be rolled out on a nationwide basis and will dramatically reduce the number of people dying each year from drug use in Britain.
"If people are a little bit suspect about what it is they have, they can bring a little bit of it here and have it tested. Purity levels are up and down the whole time. The testing takes place in a small room at the Addaction base in Weston-super-Mare, north Somerset, and is carried out by Dr Amira Guirguis from the University of Hertfordshire, who worked on the idea for her PhD.
SkyEnda Just checking my calendar, thought it was 1st April!!! As others have said, people will still take the drug anyway. Where's the money coming from to fund this
This shows a complete lack of understanding of drug abusers. Even if they find out that their drug might be bad for them they will still take it. That's why they're called drug abusers. The word will also spread that these are scare tactics and it will rapidly lose credibility.
Knowing the home office red tape could mean it ends up costing lives
I see Danger Mouse has a new job...
I question this...a drug user isn't going to wait around to get their shit tested and then taken...maybe a large supplier of a hallucinogenic....what do they get a authenticity certificate FFS..sounds unrealistic
Finally - excellent idea, however they should be made available at every club every concert or large event!
Just testing you.. I do hope that's not Momo ...😘
How about making the drug testing kit readily available to citizens? Market it...profitable over the counter. No Bloke is coming in with their personal stash for undisclosed research purposes Trust is earned.
SALISBURY ?
Covered momo faces..😉
Risk is part of the fun if it was safe nobody would bother
They should be arrested and imprisoned as a deterrent to others.
