NCAA introduces AI sportscasters for Season 99

A year before its centennial anniversary, the National Collegiate Athletics Association will introduce two Artificial Intelligence sportscasters for the upcoming Season 99, a groundbreaking initiative that received mixed reactions from fans and netizens.

Maia and Marco are programmed with Image Generation, Text-to-Speech voice generation and face animation technology, meaning they will talk and act like a human being. According to GMA SVP and Head of Integrated News Oliver Victor Amoroso, the introduction of AI in sports programs promotes inclusivity in their reporting.
