Users of Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards who have yet to register will lose connectivity starting midnight of July 26, the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) warned.

“Please, magpa-rehistro na kayo dahil by 12:01 of July 26 wala na pong connectivity ang mga hindi nagpa-register ng SIM card ,” said DICT Chief Ivan John Uy.DICT has repeatedly mentioned that there will be no additional extension for the SIM registration which originally started in December last year until April this year.

Once a SIM card is deactivated, the user will not be able to make outgoing calls and receive incoming calls.Worst, the remaining load balance in the unregistered SIM card will also be “forfeited.” Since most e-wallets require active mobile phone numbers where they can send the One-Time Password or password for security purposes, having a deactivated SIM card means losing access to your account
