Calgary man accused of trafficking woman he recruited over internet yyc yyccrime

Justin Palmer, 35, was arrested June 26. His charges include human trafficking, advertising sexual services and assault causing bodily harm, among others.ALERT said it’s believed Palmer was aggressively trying to recruit other women in the sex trade before his arrest. “Our primary concern is ensuring no other women were victimized and providing supports to those that may have been. This suspect was very violent in order to facilitate his own financial gain,” ALERT Staff Sgt. Colleen Bowers said in the news release.The year-long investigation involved several agencies, including Calgary Police Service, RCMP and Lethbridge police.

Anyone who believes they are a victim of sexual assault or abuse is encouraged to report it to police. There is no time limit on how long a victim has to report a sexual assault in Canada.
