Publisher Fred Ryan is leaving ‘The Washington Post’ after nine years—news that comes as Jeff Bezos's involvement at the Post grows. VF's charlottetklein reports:

Ryan as publisher and CEO after he bought the company; a former Reagan administration official, Ryan said he is leaving “to lead the nonpartisan Center on Public Civility that is being launched by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute,” citing his “deep and growing concern about the decline in civility and respectful dialogue in our political process, on social media platforms and more broadly across our society.” Ryan will remain publisher until August 1.

In recent months, Bezos has participated in several Zoom meetings with top leaders like Ryan and executive editor
