Two men entered an electronics store in Lower Manhattan Friday and held up the establishment at gunpoint, police said.

The suspects walked into the store, located in the vicinity of Canal Street and Mercer Street, at around 7:30 a.m., with one of the men pointing a gun at an employee.

The gun toting suspect then struck the employee, a 72-year-old man, in the back of the head with the gun and then took $1,500 from the victim’s wallet. The pair then tried to open a safe located inside the store but were unsuccessful. The suspects then fled the store.
