The COVID-19 pandemic showed us how important technology is, but older adults who don’t know how to use it became isolated.

That’s why more than 100 senior citizens received a free iPad from the University of Texas at San Antonio and the training to use it.

At least six senior centers participated in the grant-funded courses. During the classes, seniors were taught to use an iPad and at the end of the course were able to keep it. The Federal Bureau of Investigation estimated over 5,000 people lost at least $100,000 in online scams in 2022.
