The White House has begun working with NASA for a new planetary defence strategy involving “tracking and finding near earth objects” and “developing ways of improving the technology,” says ANU Astrophysicist and Cosmologist Brad Tucker.

“This is a result of that successful DART mission … when a probe crashed into an asteroid and deliberately altered its course,” he told Sky News Australia.

“If one were to hit near the earth, we wouldn’t be as prepared in terms of the agencies, the management and the practicalities of if an asteroid were to hit the earth, so that needs to be part of the equation as well. “Finding them, knowing where they’re going, trying to solve them and limiting the damage is part of the plan for the next ten years.”

Just another way to scam you out of your money.

With all the bullshit happening in the world today maybe we should just let it hit. It's probably for the best.

Wow they are actually doing something for the good of humanity, that is a first...

If it was the right wingers running the show they’d say leave it up to Jesus

The world is fucked I wouldn’t bother

Me sleeping soundly

Maybe they should try fixing the border first together.

The World will be destroyed by humans well before any Asteroid or Comet hits!

Next they'll be tracking Uranus.

But Space Force was dumb 🫠 when Trump wanted it 🙄
