Through its program called Project CLICK, the DICT provided at least 100 students with electronic tablets. Students were also taught how to use the devices responsibly.

“[The] program [aims] to educate students aged 10 to 13 years old Grades 5 to 6 on important topics related to their safety and well-being in cyberspace. The students were provided with electronic tablets and guidance on how to use them responsibly, as well as how to navigate social media platforms safely,” said DICT’s ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau on Friday, March 24.Apart from the cyber safety training, students were also taught the basics of productivity tools.

The DICT believes that instilling the appropriate use of digital devices among children will help strengthen the nation’s participation in the global digital economy. This initiative is in line with the DICT’s goal of transforming the Philippines into a digitally competitive nation.
