He said his ministry, through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission , will hold discussions with the telecommunications companies to identify and find solutions. Fahmi said matters related to internet access could be resolved almost completely if the telecommunications companies could work together, such as sharing telecommunication towers.
” However, Fahmi said internet access cannot only be measured by the number of telecommunication towers in any one area.It should also be seen based on the conditions and geography of the locations, especially the 3% of populated areas which still do not have internet coverage. “Therefore, we will strive for broadband wireless access , which will use technology such as satellites. Perhaps, we will look into Wide Space TV and some other technologies which will help provide access,” he said.
