THREE girls from SJK (T) Taman Melawati made their school and families proud by winning a gold medal at an Asean-level innovation competition, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The competition was hosted by the Young Scientists Association of Indonesia and the Diponegoro University of Jawa Tengah.

The device, which records students’ attendance and monitors their body temperature, impressed the judges in the event which also drew competitors from Bulgaria, Vietnam, the Philippines, South Korea, Kazakhstan, the United States and Iran and host country Thailand. SJK Kemayan in Bera was flooded on Feb 14 following a heavy downpour. Several classrooms and the computer room were flooded, causing RM200,000 in damage.
