A London council is to start using artificial intelligence to help tackle fly-tipping for a new trial.
Other London councils are also trying to crack down on the issue, with Harrow Council also installing cameras, although without AI technology. The council will then contact the DVLA to get the vehicle owner's details and take action in the form of a fixed penalty notice , or in serious cases criminal proceedings.Westminster Labour councillor Paul Dimoldenberg told BBC Radio London the number of fly-tipping incidents in the borough had "almost doubled" recently.
Most household items are recyclable and this means good profits for all local authorities, and yet they're reluctant to make such collections from all properties.
Any excuse to get more cameras up. More fines and more control of ordinary people's lives and none of it actually does any good for regular people if they needed it.
And 3/4 are on my road🤬🤬🤬
You can call me Al?
Should jail them and fine them by taking their vehicle
Considering the money waste generates, tipping should be free ! All waste COs are wealthy.
Dumps charge per bag for your rubbish,do you wonder why ,costs more to clear up the fly tip mess than what they get in charges
No real surprise when it’s so difficult to go to a dump
Again a council own goal, they cut back so much on the basics that people resort to fly tipping. Refuse collection is a cornerstone of a councils responsibilities that they have cut back again and again to fund their vanity projects.
Everyday in thurrockcouncil
Maybe because local councils want so much evidence before going to court most have cctv but want to know who it is where they live what size shoes they take
