TikTok's parent ByteDance is developing a new 'AI-based' learning platform called GeniusJoy that it will test overseas

on its education projects in 2021 after the Chinese government cracked down on online-tutoring platforms.that"GeniusJoy aims to help global primary school students build solid math foundations and STEM skills, with a special focus on concept mastery and real life applications."

In the same job listing, the company wrote its educational content design team was focused on"designing and creating high-quality study materials for our AI-based online math-learning product." In addition to helping to produce courses, step-by-step guidance, and quizzes, ByteDance's curriculum developers will also work with its product team"to complete demo design and conduct demo tests overseas," per the job postings.

GeniusJoy will adopt"Singapore math pedagogy" for its program, per ByteDance's job listing. Singapore had the highest performing education system for mathematics globally in 2019, according toof 4th and 8th grade students across 64 systems. The US ranked 17th in the same study.
