The IT systems belonging to Pegasus Group Australia Pty Ltd, a company which previously ran The Good Guys' reward service for "Concierge" members, has been hacked, The Good Guys has announced.
The supplier held contact details of Concierge members, including names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses, as well as encrypted passwords and dates of birth of some members.The Good Guys has said it has just became aware of the data breach, which is believed to have occurred back in August 2021.
The Good Guys has emphasised that its systems have not been hacked, and that it no long uses the services of Pegasus Group Australia Pty Ltd. "The Good Guys is extremely disappointed that My Rewards, a former services provider, has experienced this breach and we apologise for any concern that this may cause," a statement on its website reads.The Good Guys has said it is directly contacting any of its Concierge members who may have been impacted by the data breach.Continue reading
