today is the first since January 10, shortly before the domestic violence charges against Roiland were made public. It's brief, but states that"Rick and Morty will continue" with work on season seven ongoing. It makes no mention of who will replace Roiland as the voice actor for Rick, Morty, and a range of other characters.
In May 2020 Roiland was charged with"felony domestic battery with corporal injury" and"felony false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit", which broke the news. He plead not guilty to both charges in October 2020. The case has not yet gone to trial, and came to light when Roiland attended a pre-trial hearing this month. If convicted, Roiland could face several years in prison—in California, felony domestic violence can carry a sentence of up to four years.
Yet Dan Harmon keeps walking. Interesting.
To all the “he hasn’t been convicted yet” people - while true regarding the domestic violence charge, it’s hard to deny the grotesque nature of his numerous sexually charged texts to underaged teens.
So this dude got fired from his own creations?
How would the show go on I wonder without the primary voices in it?

I miss the days when it was innocent until proven guilty, but even though many good men have been falsely accused of things and have had their reputations tarnished because of the false accusations, people just immediately assume guilty...
I n before all the “ dude is guilty” comments. Trial is April 27th. Settles out of court more than likely. Rick and Morty should just get cancelled no one is going to watch the train wreck without Roiland anyways.

Awfully thin details to be ejecting someone society for. Literally all we know is that he was charged and pleads innocent. He could be an abusive asshole or just innocent dork who hooked up with the wrong person. Yet we are already willing to assume guilt?

True or not, the Media as well as Squanch Games apparently needs to know the difference between 'Charged With' and 'Convicted of'. You are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Look at Johnny Depp vs Disney blacklisting him before knowing the facts. 🤦🤷🤷🤦

Yeah, probably the same way Top Gear continued when Clarkson, Hammond and May left the show. Also it's another case of when something like this happens only and explicitly because it became public knowledge, not because he did it in the first place.
