The stock photo company claims the creators of the AI tool have engaged in copyright violation and “chose to ignore viable licensing options and long-standing legal protections in pursuit of their stand-alone commercial interests.”
Therefore, Getty has “commenced legal proceedings in the High Court of Justice in London against Stability AI claiming Stability AI infringed intellectual property rights including copyright in content owned or represented by Getty Images.” “The company made no outreach to Getty Images to utilize our or our contributors’ material so we’re taking an action to protect our and our contributors’ intellectual property rights,” he added.
LOL! Getty images destroyed the stock photo industry and photographers livelihood. Talk about theft!
GettyImages doesn’t mess around. Years ago we inadvertently used an image in annual report and printed 5k copies. Had to scrap them and buy rights and reprint.
How many photos has Getty stolen and copyrighted over the years?
Btw… are those mini condoms on the fingers?🤔
Good. Push back artists.💪… Or companies who sponsor artists. 😅Getty kinda utilizes talent and sells photography, but still. artiststrong
Tough shit, its a completely brand new image so nothing they can do about it
How does that work since those images have watermarks?
