The economic benefits of a multi-million pound investment in digital connectivity have been showcased to Blackpool North and Cleveleys MP Paul Maynard.
During the visit, representatives from CityFibre and its build partner, Telent, provided demonstrations of the typical build process, including excavation and reinstatement. Mr Maynard said: “We have been backing CityFibre’s investment in Blackpool since the works began in 2021.
“The potential benefits of better connectivity are vast, and in Blackpool alone the economic benefits are set to be significant, with productivity and innovation benefits expected to reach £167m. CityFibre says it is using a range of construction methods while working in close partnership with the council and the community to deliver a fast rollout while managing potential disruption.
