The internet provider Breezeline reported outages throughout Ohio early Tuesday afternoon.
"We are currently experiencing an outage of Internet, Phone, and Television services impacting customers all of our Ohio systems," the company. "Our technicians are working on the issue and we do apologize for the inconvenience. We know that our customers depend on Breezeline service and we are working to restore service as soon as possible."
Customers in the Columbus area reported losing internet shortly after noon. Service was restored to some parts of Columbus by 2 p.m., but Breezeline was still reporting outages after that. The company did not respond to a Dispatch email asking for details of the outages., when it acquired the Columbus and Cleveland markets of WOW! for $1.125 billion. Formerly known as Atlantic Broadband, Breezeline is the nation's eighth-largest cable operator.
At the time it entered Ohio, Breezeline served 200,000 internet, 60,000 cable television and 35,000 telephone customers in the Columbus and Cleveland areas.
