only 9 billion? seriously? They stole most of the open source code

And....?.. +? Askin for.. The ones hows interisted in.. Who will win the football world cup? 🤫

Who are the plaintiffs? If the AI uses random people's code, who will defendents have to pay out if they lose? Also, can they actually prove that it uses actual people's code? What we have seen with AI in other areasis that it deos not plagairise. - PS me musing due to paywall.

Until their AI can obey the appropriate licensing and attribution, I'de say these tools are both illegal and immoral.

That's why we can't have nice things

It will be basically copy paste won't it. I wonder what the law says is the minimal difference

Really seems baseless to my understanding. I use Copilot, it doesn't seem to directly copy/paste anything. Instead it tailors the underlying purpose you requested, to your style & context. Plus it merely creates short snippets of code as any programmer would for the same purpose.

How about a class action for all the owners of hacked onedrive accounts where microsoft does absolutely nothing to return them to the original owners? 5 years of personal records gone. Keyword search 'rambler . ru' in the MS Community Center Forums, you'll see I'm not alone.

Again...

It's an amazing tool, but I also understand the resistance to it.

Intellectual property law is horrible.

So if it's code sharing I guess I don't understand the dispute if it's handwritten versus automated? I'll have to see if I can find out more about this

This is too much.

This is great. I hope this leads to some protection for artists with similar concerns.

Aren't these public repositories though?

The question remains: do the developers of the code take any reimbursement?

Not Coinbase 🙏🙏

If its open source i dont see an issue

BS
