President Marcos has met executives from telecommunications companies Converge ICT and South Korean telco giant KT Corporation to discuss improving the Philippines’ internet services.

President Marcos meets executives from South Korean telco giant KT Corporation in Malacañang on October 14, 2022. In his post, the President shared a photo of him meeting Converge CEO Dennis Uy and Korean executives CEO Ku Hyeon-mo and President Yun Kyoung-lim of KT Corporation in Malacañang.

“Tayo ay nakipagpulong sa CEO ng Converge ICT at opisyal ng KT Corporation ng South Korea upang maisaayos ang internet services sa bansa ,” he said. KT Corporation is the second-largest wireless carrier in South Korea, with almost 16.5 million subscribers as of 2017. The Embassy said South Korea is currently conducting a $550,000 feasibility study for expanding the National Broadband Infrastructure in Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, MIMAROPA, and Bicol.
