Next week’s federal budget will include $480 million to improve regional internet speeds and allow more customers to access the NBN’s fixed wireless service.
Taraeta Nicholls, from Trayning in WA, moved to Elon Musk's Starlink service after being dissatisfied with the NBN's Sky Muster offering. Not all homes in regional Australia are within the NBN's fixed wireless footprint but the planned upgrade promises to include 120, 000 more premises. The government believes more regional customers moving to fixed wireless should free up capacity for customers who remain on the NBN Sky Muster satellite service.
Oh is there an election?
Too little, too late and only on a promise to get reelected... Do you trust them?
Somehow I don't think this article would've survived NickRossTech scrutiny. No mention of the change of approach from the original % of public on FW vs satellite. No mention of NBN under provision the FW towers they did employee. This money is wasted $$$
Not cheap either. And since a lot of these phones are pre paid very expensive and cuts out also on a regular basis. Should have found a better system. Eg like sending wifi through tv antenna’s. which was a possibility
Another promise that won’t be kept. It was the lnp who destroyed it in the first place. And satellite doesn’t cut it . It’s useless as, overpriced and and cuts out. Bad enough that most of us living in rural areas are forced to use our mobile phone for internet
60 days to election ,throw out the money, 3 days after the election the famous razor gang, hall mark of LNP tradition. They get you back double.
“Next week’s federal budget will include $480 million to improve regional internet speeds and allow more customers to access the NBN’s fixed wireless service” A $480M federal cash splash. Not a $750M federal cash splash.
