“Did the person fit?” was the primary question to which committee members wanted a positive answer during the process, Yaw said. Candidates did not have to have a doctorate, he said, although Reed does. Gilmour, who has been at the college and its predecessor Williamsport Area Community College since 1977, said she plans to enjoy life as the former president.

Prior to going to Penn College, the native of Glenshaw, Allegheny County, was head principal at Williamsport Area High School.
