A small town in the Territory outback will play host to a new technology that sucks water from the atmosphere to create hydrogen – and the government is backing it with action.

In the centre of Australia, where the landscape is parched and temperatures can soar into the high 40s, water can be a precious commodity. The plan is to extract water from the desert atmosphere and use it to produce hydrogen

But a "cutting edge" technology is being trialled in the Northern Territory, giving a glimpse of how water-dependent industries may one day be able to operate in the outback without having to rely on sucking those resources from underneath the earth. "It is absolutely cutting edge, at the forefront of technology at the moment," NT Energy Minister Eva Lawler said."We might be standing here in 30 years and it might be commonplace."The full extent of this technology's long-term environmental impact remains somewhat unknown, but a study into any potential dangers is weeks away from being released.

The government said the project has already been backed by a private firm, Sanguine Impact Investment, to the tune of $1 billion, to get it off the ground.NT's fracking inquiry

I'm not sure how somebody could manage to make the process of condensation dangerous.

Before you ask is it safe it would be better to ask how they are going to break the laws of thermodynamics.
