In a Laging Handa briefing, DICT Undersecretary Emmanuel Rey. R Caintic warned against fixers who are asking charges for vaccine certificates and called on the public to report them.
“Libre po ang vaccine certificates. Wala tayong hinihinging kabayaran para dito. Libre ang bakuna, dapat lang libre ang vaccine certificates ,” Caintic said. He added that there is no Inter-Agency Task Force resolution yet for schools to require vaccine certificates for enrollment. The DICT official also urged local government units to assign more data encoders to upload vaccination records of their constituents.
“Mayors, allocate more encoders and prioritize the backlogs. Because if the backlog is large, for example, 30 percent of your data has not been yet encoded, there’s also a 30 percent chance that your constituents will not get their data,” Caintic said in Filipino.“Sa susunod na mga araw, magpo-post kami ng sign up sheet for data encoders para pwede nating italaga sa mga LGU, lalong-lalo na sa mahalagang activity sa Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 na tinatawag nating three-day vaccination day ,” he added.
