JOHOR BARU: Global tech companies have shown interest in making Malaysia into a regional hub for information technology but our country lacks the necessary infrastructure, says Muhyiddin Yassin.

The Prime Minister said he recently held a discussion with representatives of major tech firms - Microsoft, Amazon and Google - who wanted to help Malaysia to move forward in the field of information technology.

Muhyiddin, however, stressed the importance of connectivity infrastructure where the internet in the country was not efficient. "It is a big story where it symbolises that our connectivity has not reached a level similar to other developing countries.
