DOST launches app for proper distribution of med supplies to hospitals

DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Pena said during his report on Facebook on Friday afternoon, Aug. 14, that the application is called Tracing for Allocation of Medical Supplies .

“Ito ay isang online geographic system para ma-track ang information tungkol sa estado ng mga medical resources sa mga hospital ,” the secretary explained. “Ito ay naglalayon na magkaroon tayo ng supporting tool para sa Department of Health’s COVID-19 tracker ng sa ganoon maayos na maipamahgi, ma-i-allocate ang mga medical resources ,” he added.TrAMS+ was developed by the DOST’s Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development.

So far, the DOST chief said there are a total of 86 hospitals nationwide using TrAMS+, 16 of which are in Metro Manila while the rest are distributed across other regions.
