A school district in Indiana, trying to ensure all students have access to the internet for virtual learning, said it's sending 35 WiFi-equipped buses across town during school hours.

The South Bend Community School Corporation, the fourth-largest school district in Indiana according to its website, last week announced schools would offer digital-only learning for at least the first eight weeks of the school year, which started Wednesday. The school is parking buses in designated areas that lack internet service, the district said in a statement,"near benches or covered areas." Students aren't allowed on the bus, for safety and health reasons.

Vuduchick Why, as a country, have we not invested/expanded our access for Internet across the entire country and then have it as a listed utility?

I hope Ghanaian leaders are watching

Paying for those buses with what $?

, it should be its not it’s. Might want to get some proofreaders.

We can't act like children have learning disabilities, such as IUP. There must be in school or online options for children's well being

Great workaround!

Great idea!

This is nice, but it's only during school hours. Kids will still need the internet to do homework.

kaitlancollins Wouldn’t it be cheaper to just pay for their internet?

iSalute innovation

kaitlancollins Problem solving.

Trump insulted Sweden in the last campaign and accused it of being communist. How come 100% of kids in Swedish schools have access to internet at home and school, while in the US they have to plant WIFI on school buses. Shame and sad for a so called super power.

I would not allow my child to ride a bus, enclosed spaces are the tops for spreading any infectious disease.

CannonHinnant

kaitlancollins Why not supplement that by broadcasting a school curriculum on public service channels for people who may not have internet access at home?

kaitlancollins WE VOTE IN 82 DAYS, BIDEN IS PRESIDENT IN 160 DAYS

Kids need to physical interact with teachers and friends in order for them to learn. Most kids dont have self motivations. That's why they need to be at school to learn. Besides, if parents at work, who is watching after them? Don't promote something that can harm kids

And still nothing on Cannon Innhant . I guess if it's the wrong races doing the dieing and the killing , the CNN just doesn't give a f*ck

Do they have seatbelts in em?

Wow!
