It does not only affect iPhone X, my 7 Plus has the same problem. It’s not a wallpaper filter because even icons on widget screen appear low contrast and sometimes indistinguishable from their background. The same goes for fonts and wallpaper is washed out and tinted magenta.
Cobblers I run iOS 12 and the screen is perfect.
