Grundy County officials held a new conference Thursday to announce the identity of a woman, 'Jane Seneca Doe,' whose body was found on the side of a highway near Seneca, Illinois, in 1976.

Since her body was found, authorities dubbed her as "Jane Seneca Doe." Her body was found on October 2, 1976 along a U.S. Route 6 near Holderman Hill near Seneca, Illinois.

"At some point everyone worked on this case," DNA Doe Project founder Margaret Press said. "She has been at the top of my list of cases I wanted to see identified."
